It's a peated expression, distilled under the Port Charlotte name, and has spent 14 years maturing, including a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The peated malt and sherried influence combine to create a delightfully decadent dram - just look at that rich, dark hue!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Gristy malt with dark wafts of cocoa and redcurrants. Herbaceous notes of salty seaweed are balanced by fragrant notes of old leather.
Palate
A complex array of sweet dried fruits, earthen peat smoke, and briney salinity mingles, with hints of salt and pepper crisps and oily oak.
Finish
Coastal bonfire notes linger, with tarry smoke and earthen baking spice.
