    Single Malt

    Port Charlotte 10 Year Old

Introduced as the flagship Port Charlotte expression produced by Bruichladdich in 2018, this 10 year old single malt from the Isle of Islay is a lip-smackingly smoky number indeed. It's peated to 40ppm, and drawn from a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Salted caramel brownie, flamed orange peel, a hearty whack of seaweed.

    Palate

Oak-y smoke and salty sea air, paired with sweeter notes of Custard Cream biscuits and white grape.

    Finish

Ginger snaps, rye toast, drying peat smokiness.

    This is a Lovely Whisky

This is a lovely whisky, but I wouldn't describe it as heavily peated! Ardbeg Ten tastes more peaty. This is light in colour, smooth and light on the palate, with just a hint of liquorice.

    Truly sublime.

The nose is highly complex...salt, sea air and subtle smoke, with a sweet aftertaste - almost as sweet as the aftertaste of single malt rye whiskey. Port Charlotte definitely has a place in any whiskey lover's liquor cabinet

Solid Whiskey, Wouldnt call it heavily peated

Very nice whiskey, I wouldn call it heavily peated though. Laphroaig and Seaweed & Aeons are more peated. still very nice though, would reccomend.

    Very good single malt.

Smokey goodness, I like it very much. I'm sad to say it has replaced Laphroaig 10 as my smokey goodness. It's just that more tasty. Don't know how they do it. So sweet.

    Complex and intruiging.

Salt and seaweed on the nose, you can practically taste Loch Indall in the glass, with a hint of subtle sweetness. Spicy pepper in the mouth with a hint of desertwine and peat fire over the aftertaste. ALthoug it says hevily peated there's a lot more going on than the peat to the extent it takes a back seat. If you like the CLassic LAddie give this one a go. A truly sublime whisky!
