    Single Malt

    Port Charlotte 10 Year Old

Introduced as the flagship Port Charlotte expression produced by Bruichladdich in 2018, this 10 year old single malt from the Isle of Islay is a lip-smackingly smoky number indeed. It's peated to 40ppm, and drawn from a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Salted caramel brownie, flamed orange peel, a hearty whack of seaweed.

    Palate

Oak-y smoke and salty sea air, paired with sweeter notes of Custard Cream biscuits and white grape.

    Finish

Ginger snaps, rye toast, drying peat smokiness.

One of the best Islay drams

This is a fabulous Islay. Reminds me of my favourite Caol Ila Distillers Edition which is finished in Moscatel casks. Powerful at 50% and heavily peated but smooth and sweet with a long smokey finish. Wonderful stuff especially for the price. If you’re a fan of Caol Ila, Lagavulin and Ardbeg (Uigeadail in particular) you’re going to love this one.

    Superb!

Order a bottle. Now. And then send me a bottle as a thank you. Stunning whisky! Pouring a dram of this makes you smile from ear to ear and feel warm inside even before you've had a sip. Slainte.

    Hits the spot

Full of smoke and deep peaty notes. One to be ordered more than once. MZB

    Up with the best

This really is a superb whisky. The perfect marriage between peat and smoke. The finish is so mouthwatering and lingering. Well worth having a bottle of this in your collection

    Peat perfection.

What's to be said about it? This is what an Islay malt should be. As perfect as it gets nowadays. A real, and I reiterate, a real Islay single malt. Perfection.
