Our Competitions offer you the chance to win some of the world’s rarest and most exclusive whiskies!
From Dramfool comes the FINAL release of the Jim McEwan Signature Collection and the brand saved the best till last: Jim’s favourite three casks. It's been quite a ride. How often does a whisky legend personally nose and select casks for a collection that honours his contribution to the spirit?
Bruichladdich 9.1 was distilled on 16 September 2010 and was aged for 13 years in a single cask (#2329), a first-fill Premier Cru Supérieur Sauternes barrique. The château that provided the cask was the only one to be awarded this ultimate status in the 1855 Official Classification and today it remains held in the highest regard by wine lovers. The single malt Scotch whisky was bottled in January 2024 as Release 9.1 and like everything in the collection, it was presented un-chill filtered, with no added colour and at a cask strength (in this case, 63% ABV). This cask yielded only 236 bottles.
The tasting note is from Jim McEwan MBE, who provides an insight into texture rather than a finish.
Alternatively, head to the Bruichladdich 9.1 13 Year Old 2010 (cask 2329) - Jim McEwan Signature Collection (Dramfool) page if you want to shell out and guarantee yourself this bottle!
