Lochindaal is whisky produced by Bruichladdich that is slightly more peated than its Port Charlotte expressions. This is a fine example of that, a vintage 2007 Islay single malt Scotch whisky aged in a single first-fill bourbon barrel (#3371) for 15 years before it was bottled in July 2023 at 60.1% ABV. Just 237 numbered bottles are available of this whisky, which is presented by Hannah Whisky Merchants for the Lady of the Glen series.
Earthy peat leads with brine, lemon peel, salted caramel, and peppery spice in support.
Stone fruit sweetness and some estery tropical notes provide balance against the rich peat smoke notes and the sticky toffee slickness.
Grapefruit peels and medicinal smoke linger.
