Single Malt
Bruichladdich
The very first 10-year-old single malt to be wholly distilled, aged, and bottled following Bruichladdich's resurrection in 2001. A true milestone bottling, and a splendid collectible.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Wonderful dram, not heavily smoked, spicy, a bit sweet, herbal. My first bottle from Bruichladdich and look forward to enjoying their other offerings.
Whisky that's been barrier filter has a tendency to go cloudy, usually when water is added. It's a sign of quality, drink up!
I have a bottle that's been in my dining room, after checking the bottle it has a slight haze (cloud to it!) the room I store the bottle in is just below room temp 18,19 * has this affected the contents?
I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A BOTTLE OF THE LADDIE TEN AND FIND IT MOST ENJOYABLE. ONE OF THE BETTER ISLAY WHISKY.
Initially enjoyed this quite a bit, but after reading a review suggesting a 'vomit' or bile like whiff on the nose it has been all but ruined for me. It's all I can smell when going for a sip which is a shame because before I had been tipped to look for that note I found it to be an abrasive nose, with an almost almond fruit pastry quality to it and enjoyed the taste and finish a great deal. I have read that adding a splash of water and letting it sit does much to alleviate said condition and will try it immediately and return with my result. I did like it and would love to like it again but thus far I have been tainted.
