Single Malt
Bruichladdich
The very first 10-year-old single malt to be wholly distilled, aged, and bottled following Bruichladdich's resurrection in 2001. A true milestone bottling, and a splendid collectible.

Bought this a 2~3 years ago. Strong smell of vomit. Behind that there was a spicy, fruity, somewhat peaty, overall well balanced whiskey. So it was as if someone puked into a bottle of good scotch... Based on the other reviews, maybe I got a bad batch. Anyways, to me it was difficult to drink.
First of all, it's definitely peated. The nose tells you that right away. There is some sweet and salty notes too on the nose. But the real star is the taste. The mouthfeel is intense! Much more than I expected. Tangy, briny, peaty. Very strange dram this is. Give it some time in the glass and it really opens up and allows more subtle vegetal notes to come through. I'm not the biggest Islay fan but this is up there with my favorites.
I have just tried your whiskey. I find it hard to imagine anyone calling this "vomit", however; to each their own I say. I know some find it disagreeable but for me; l am not a fan of Islay smoke but with this one; I could easily aquire a liking for this one. I find it complex in flavors and a great after taste. Please keep up the good work!! P.S. looking forward to my next bottle!
With a wee splash of water to release it's fragrant goodness, it still has 'legs' Very impressive for a 'first-off!
Ignore the strange reviews above.... Not too smoky; not too sweet or fruity. This is lovely and balanced whisky that tastes better each time I pour a dram. Terrific finish that lasts a while but does not overwhelm my palate. Sadly, my first bottle is going by too fast.
