    Single Malt

Brora 35 Year Old 1978 (Special Release 2014)

A well-loved regular of Diageo's Special Releases, single malt from the closed Brora distillery is hugely sought after by connoisseurs and collectors alike. For the 2014 Special Releases, this Brora has been matured for 35 years in first-fill American and European oak casks, then bottled at 48.6% ABV. 2,964 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Immediately pleasingly waxy, you soon realise this is going to be an elegant, fruity and complex Brora offering.

    Palate

More fruit, think orchard fruits, sweet white grape and just a hint of orange. Buttery. Hints too of salt and smoke but never approaching the seaweed notes present in 2013's release.

    Finish

Gently drying oak and a little more smoke but still subtle and elegant.

    Overall

A waxy, elegant treat of a Brora.
