When the folk of Bowmore formed an angry mob to chase the devil out of the church (which is of course round, offering him nowhere to hide), down the road and through the distillery, it was assumed that he must have made his escape in a cask heading to the mainland aboard the Maid of Islay. Some first fill sherry casks at Bowmore make you wonder though, how can whisky be so devilishly delicious? This third and final Devil's Casks release uses both oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks for the first time.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Corinth raisins, salted caramel, melted chocolate, sticky prunes and flamed orange peel.
More sea salt and chocolate, candied peels, rich dark fruits, gentle smoke and spices.
Long with complex coffee and cherry notes.
I love this. I bought this a while back and i have about 1/3rd the bottle left .I mix this with one ice cube in a GC glass and then pour something less than a double. I like to make things last and enjoy the taste. Wow. if you like the Bowmore 18 then this is not far from it. But feels like a more concentrated version. The name is apt as you have cinamon and spices to greet you on the nose, same with the taste which is rare to get allignment of both. But this is no joke. It lasts a while
To all you whiney twats who "reviewed" the whisky but never bought it or drank it, and only complained at the price because you are cheapskates, you should be ashamed. What gives you the right to review something that you never tried? Seriously, if you are too cheap to enjoy good whisky, that's fine, but why do you have to advertise your cheapness, and disparage a good whisky in the process? BTW, I DID buy it, and I DID drink it, and my star rating does reflect my opinion of the actual N/T/F of the whisky.
This is a really good whisky, but definitely overpriced! It is one of the better Peat/Sherry Bomb! Just reviewed this on our YouTube Channel! Slainte! -Keith-"The Malted Man Cave"
Great whisky so worth the price a must have.
When I drink this I’m thinking about how nice the 15 year old Bowmore is. At this price it shouldn’t be like that. Waste of money and pretty disrespectful from bowmore.
