The second batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Bowmore is a smoky, muscular whisky with more than a hint of sherry in the mix. It comes with a rather wonderful comic book illustration of the distillery with a cheeky a schoolboy, stolen bra in hand, being chased by a lifeguard from the nearby pool. Fact Hunt: The swimming pool is actually heated by the waste heat from Bowmore's copper pot-stills!
There are just 292 numbered bottles in batch 2.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish comic book-style labels.
Peaty, powerful nose with red berry fruits and Corinth raisins. Beeswax, a little honey and salt caramel. Figs develop.
Thick, creamy palate with notes of wood smoke and sticking plasters. Citrusy, zesty flavours, with sultanas and Oloroso. Dried peels and spice.
Rich finish with bonfire toffee, apricots and candied peels. Potpourri.
Rich and punchy - Batch 2 is a superb example of what Bowmore can offer.
