Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1969

A jaw-dropping release from Bowmore, the last in their astonishing Vaults series, the Bowmore 1969 is a 50 year old single malt Scotch whisky. Over five decades of patient maturation went into making this incredible whisky, bringing together spirit that was aged in both American oak ex-bourbon casks and Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks at a natural cask strength of 46.9% ABV. The beautiful presentation case was created by master craftsman John Galvin, inspired by the rugged warehouse where the whisky spent 50 years of slumber. An admirable tribute to Bowmore's legacy.
Freesia, dried geranium, and lilies of the valley merge with the aromas of Chablis, citrus fruits, and gooseberries, followed by sweeter notes of acacia honey, apple pie, vanilla pods, and cream.
Initially dry and floral with notes of carnations, developing into sweeter notes of lemon meringue, grilled almonds, and light crème caramel fudge, with a hint of white pepper, nutmeg oak spices, and light coconut.
Lightly sweet and warm with subtle floral notes and malty flavours.
