    The Character of Islay Whisky Company has gone and launched The Stories of Wind & Wave range of independently bottled whiskies from the eponymous Inner Hebrides island. This particular release is a single cask Bowmore, distilled back in 2003 and left to age in a refill bourbon barrel for 16 years. It was eventually bottled at cask strength - and with a rather handsome bottle covered (appropriately) with waves and waves and waves...

    Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

    Oak staves, almond croissants, a pinch of sea salt and brown sugar.

    Palate

    Waxy peels and green apple brightness, balanced by mellowing vanilla and flashes of smoke.

    Finish

    Petrichor and peppercorn.
