We got our hands on an incredible Islay whisky a while back... This right here is a Master of Malt Single Cask Series bottling of Bowmore single malt, distilled in September 2002 and left to age in a bourbon barrel for 15 years. We bottled it up in March 2018 at cask strength without any chill-filtration or additional colours.
Coastal at first, but soon enough you're treated to spearmint, lemon peel and sugared almond sweetness.
Fragrant barley blends well with wafts of cooked fruit and brown sugar. Seaweed and heavily toasted oak notes slowly grow.
Final smoky hints of oak stick around.
