A cask-strength single malt from Islay's Bowmore distillery. Distilled in 1992, this whisky finished its 16-year maturation in Bordeaux wine casks before it was bottled in 2008.

Superb. It is a gold.
It's possible I got a bottle from a bad cask/batch, but the sulphur was so overpowering it punched me in the face when I had the first dram. Heavy, heavy, heavy matchsticks and gunpowder. I've found other reviews on the Internet that report the same thing. However, under the sulphur I can tell it's a very good whisky and there are many bottles without sulphur influence out there, so good luck!
Has everything you want in a single malt.. but more. Delivers complexity that few whisky malts can achieve. A truly exceptional malt!
