Bowmore Mariner Bottling Note

A 15-year-old expression from Bowmore, aimed at the travel retail market, Mariner is a very different Bowmore with a maritime twist.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet seaweed, palma violet, sea salt, caramelised orange sweetness, sugared peel.

Palate: that Palma violet is very pronounced on the palate, and it segues into the sugared peel. There's not a lot of smoke, but a there is a nice salty tang at the back of the throat.

Finish: Bright and almost effervescent. Lemon sherbet.

Overall: A veritable seaside sweetshop of a whisky, this is and engaging and well-structured dram, very different from the standard expression.

Mr Len Parsons

Without a doubt one of the finest drams ever ,the darkest does not come close.

The biggest bang for the buck!

If you like a mildly peated single malt that is exceptionally well balanced - give this a try. You will not be disappointed.

Good value for money

I'm Scottish, but work in an international environment and have started running single malt tasting sessions here for small groups of beginners. We try a few different whiskies, but judge them on what WE think of them on the night, rather than what the 'official' rating may be. (Like the Glenfarclas 105 and the Smokehead) this one is very distinctive and attacks the senses, so it's always a guaranteed favourite. Very good value for money and, based on the reactions I've seen here, one that you should add to your collection.

Sweet smoky Seasalt

Raisiny sweetness, highlighted by aromas of a beachside grill. Savory and salty flavors with a glazing of molasses and lemon. Splendid.
