A superb single barrel bourbon. Blanton's Gold is distilled from a mashbill of corn, rye and malted barley. Each bottle is hand filled, sealed, labelled and individually numbered.
Please Note: Unfortunately, the wax atop these Blanton's bottlings is currently prone to cracking. We're informed that this should be a short term problem, but please be aware when purchasing this tasty bourbon. (Don't worry, the delicious liquid inside won't be affected!)
Oaky, dry. Plenty of fruit, mostly dried. Chewy peels, floral. Spicy.
Complex, enjoyable top notes, chewy oak. Dark stone fruits, deep spices, peppy and rich.
Long, toffee, drying.
$37.51 - $116.89
Well i l love 4 roses single barrel. Some depth and quite inexpensive. So i do what i always do i compare bourbons to this. ( take into consideration that just your barrel can be better or worse , but so can blanton). That being said Blanton was on a completly other level of complexity. First you dont get the burn from it as you do from four roses(which i enjoy). But then when four roses has 3 or 4 levels Blantons just provide many more. Every level more subtile than the other. This is awesome
Very good.. Special Occasion drink!!!!
After much contemplation I firmly believe that what you smell is an indicator of what you will taste. In this case, the aroma is potent, aromatic, pleasant and inviting. What follows in the drinking is pretty much the same - a strong, flavourful, approachable everyday imbiber. A level small teaspoon of distilled water to a nip is recommended.
After all the hype I thought it was about time to give it a go. I cannot say it is like any other Bourbon (not Blanton's) that I have tried (scores). Probably the 'cleanest', purest, most flavorful and well defined example yet. And I reckon excellent value at AU$125.
This is exquisite and well worth the additional price compared to "standard" Blanton's Single Barrel. More complex, just sweet enough, and superb in all respects.
