Distilled at Blair Athol in 2010, this single malt was filled into a refill hogshead, where it rested for the next nine years. In 2019, the cask was opened, and now 162 bottles join our own growing collection of independent bottlings.

Yeasty bread, cookie dough, lemon/lime candies, sawdust, and floral layers of barley. Some anise too - perhaps a hint of fennel.
Honeyed porridge, creamy, with warming spice in the distance. Malted Milk biscuits, rice pudding, with mellow, savoury oak developing in time.
Almond butter, pancake batter with gristy malt and nutty florentines, with green peppercorns creeping at the edges.
Contrary to some I found this perfectly drinkable neat. Needs a minutes to open up but after that and a good warm in the hand I found this one to have a sweet , slightly fruity bread dough nose, a biscuity palate ( hob nobs?) with some light pepper and barley sugar on the finish, alongside a brown bread note. At the price point a very decent pour and I’ll be investigating the MoM 12 in time…
There is way too much sting on the tongue after drinking this malt. A splash of water in the malt to try and quell the sensation didn't help. Not smooth or in anyway memorable. Really not impressed at all.
I am really enjoying this Whisky. It is well balanced and tasty. I would purchase another bottle, but first I will try some of their other own bottling. there so many to choice from at the moment. Kev Doncaster
A single cask whisky for under £35.00 is a rare beast and could nave just been so-so. What I wasn't expecting was the delicious, balanced and flavoursome malt that this is. A truly lovely whisky which I would have been very happy with at twice the price.
