Distilled at the brilliant Blair Athol, this single malt was matured for a generous 18 years, including a stay in an Oloroso sherry cask. It joins a host of other sherried delights as part of the independent Darkness range, and with heaps of figgy fruit and nutty malt, it's right at home.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Syrupy flapjack, toasted nuts, milky coffee, and gently spicy, woody malt.
Palate
Sweet, dark plums, honeyed figs, and a hint of apricot, with bold, nutty malt balanced by cakey spice and melted chocolate.
Finish
Poached fruits, drizzled with caramel, lingering fragrant oak char.
