The gang at Darkness picked a cracking 15-year-old single malt from Blair Athol here to finish in oloroso sherry casks. It was bottled at 51.4% ABV and is full of all the rich, Christmassy flavours you'd expect.
Oak char, banoffee pie, and raisins with spicy hints of cardamom and cinnamon.
Oily walnuts, flamed orange peel, tangy red fruit, and marzipan.
Coffee, Turkish delight and just a hint of flaky sea salt.

I do not have refined taste buds to describe this malt but I love it (so does my friend). I tend to like the Aberlour Sherried whisky but this takes that style to a new level. So glad that I bought two bottles.
