Wine Cask
A beautiful single malt from Blair Athol, distilled in May 2007 and matured for 14 years in a single Maderia wine hogshead. In October 2021, the team at indie bottler Mossburn decided it would be a good fit for the Vintage Casks series, so they bottled the whisky up at cask strength, without colour or chill-filtration. A release of 290 bottles.
Honeyed nuts and chocolate raisins, oily malt with wafts of vanilla and cinnamon.
Baking spices pick up with anise and a touch of clove, syrupy cooked fruits with sweet, nutty praline rest upon rich, earthy oak.
Gingerbread, sweetly spiced fruit loaf, and prickles of peppery oak.
