Smoky single malt from the Bladnoch Distillery here, dubbed Alinta, after the indigenous Australian word found in several Southern Australian languages for "fire" and "flames". You can see the connection there – smoky whisky, "fire". This expression was drawn from a combination of first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, making for a richly-flavoursome whisky.
Dark chocolate, roasted almonds, a touch of heather honey.
Still smoky and nutty, with cinder toffee and cassia developing.
Sweet smoke lasts on the finish.

The peat is there but it’s not overpowering - balanced out by a nice sweetness too. There's a nice richness to it.
A delightful surprise, after dozens of new drams that I've sampled. Nice indeed!!
Great for those who like peated whisky but it's not overpowering, just enough to give it a nice depth and balanced well with some sweetness.
This has become one of my new favorites. Absolutely lovely dram. Not a heavily peated smoke. Initial campfire smoke followed by a mouthful of sherry sweetness. I hope they keep this line of scotches.
Another lovely malt from Bladnoch! Smooth sweet with hint of caramel then of embers or charcoal which is the finish - reminded me of the smell you get on your clothes after sitting round a bonfire. It is pricey mind.
