Benromach's Peat Smoke expressions have long been rather popular, and now the series is enjoying its first variation - Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured! Peat and sweet come face to face in this 2010 vintage single malt, which was matured in first-fill sherry hogshead until 2018. It was bottled at cask strength, and 6,500 bottles were produced.
Thyme honey and grilled pineapple, with BBQ developing alongside earthy malt.
Rum-soaked raisins, peppercorn, quince and a hint of mint leaf.
Flamed orange peel, dry smoke and lingering maple syrup.

Good grief this is... superb.
For the age this is one of the best peat+sherry combos I've tried. Immediately bought another couple of bottles after that first pour.
Truly wonderful is every way. Amazing that this is <£60. What you waiting for?
Smoke Sherry Cask strength If you like these things and have £60 to spend this is just a no-brainer. Mahogany maple syrup burnt bacon beauty.
I'm a big Benromach fan. Favourite dram period is the 10 100 Proof. I feel this is a good dram but it overly masks what makes Benromach special. Glad I got a bottle and also glad I didn't get a second just in case it.
