Just opened a bottle of this and I am regrettably going to describe it as “vile” Considering what G&M’s considerable talent can achieve with others spirit, it’s astonishing that what I’ve just poured produced from their own Distillery is of such poor quality.
Absolutely beautiful very smooth but also has a strong whisky flavour
Probably one of the finest single malts out there, great price, smooth and delicious flavour...a winner.
Nose: smoke, tea, mushroom Palate: malt, barley, green apple, lime, liquorice. Finish: tequila (Agaves?), white pepper, herbs. I don't know, but this scotch tastes like a cross-over of Highland Park 12 and gold tequila to me. You can tell there are lots of effort and craft being put into this scotch; I wouldn't call this a cash grab or commercial e.g. Glenfiddich. But this crafty scotch isn't just for me with all these mushrooms, liquorice and Agaves going on. It is still a very respectable scotch.
By far my favourite speyside! Its like an explosion of fruit juice! best vale for money I've had!
