Single Malt
Scotland
There's no batch of whisky too small for Forgotten Gems. Where other indie bottlers might shy away from the effort, and blenders find the portions too small to be of any use, the Forgotten Gems gang is always ready to step in and salvage those special spirits. This one hails from Benrinnes, it's a 12-year-old single malt Scotch, from a first fill PX Octave, and there are just 12 bottles!
Candy floss and toasted marshmallows open the way for buttery shortbread, poached summer berries, Rhubarb and Custard sweeties, gingersnap biscuits, and a lick of oak.
Fresh bread dough leads to honeyed crumpets, vanilla cream and white chocolate, with estery fruit notes bringing layers of banana, before drying oak and crunchy caramel arrive.
Incredibly mellow yet characterful with creamy malt and grist, poached plum, tangy notes of raspberry, and rich, dry but not spicy oak.
