A splendid Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, distilled in 2009 and matured for a dozen years, including a stay in a first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead. Bottled at cask strength by The Red Cask Company in 2022, independently releasing a total of 288 bottles.
Fresh apples and pears are followed by summer berry sweetness, with meaty malt in support.
Hints of honeysuckle, malt loaf, toasted almonds, and redcurrants.
Chocolate and berries linger on the finish, joined by roasted nuts and vanilla.
