This beauty from Benrinnes was released independently by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. as part of its Cooper's Choice collection. Distilled back in 2010, the glorious Speyside single malt was allowed to mature in American oak, and was finished in a Madeira wine cask. In 2021, the time had come to crack open the cask and bottle it up, with a total outturn of 288 bottles.
Set honey on seeded bread, a whiff of sawdust, baked apple, and gristy barley.
Honey and maple granola with roasted nuts, crumbly chocolate fudge, sultanas, raisins, and a touch of dried fig.
Buttered tea loaf studded with dried fruits, cinnamon, butterscotch, and lingering woody baking spice.
