Behold, brill Benrinnes! Specifically, brill Benrinnes aged for 10 years before being bottled as the 16th batch of Benrinnes by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! You're in for some learning on the label of this one as Pete McPeat (off of whiskyfun.com) is showing Jack Washback (also off of whiskyfun.com) the intricacies of distillation. Batch 16 is a release of 446 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Dried fruits are all over the shop here, with raisin, prune, and sultana in the mix. A deeper hint of nutty barley brings some complexity to it.
Still enjoyably sherried, with a subtle green tea hint to it, plus a few spiced oak notes.
Fruity sweetness, alongside a crackle of cinnamon and liquorice.
