    Product details

    Benriach Peated Quarter Casks

Peated Benriach, matured in tiny quarter casks! The smaller casks encourage greater interaction between the spirit, the oak and the air allowing the whisky to take on lots of character in a shorter period of time. This 46% expression, bottled with neither chill filtration nor artificial colouring, is no exception.

Reviews for Benriach Peated Quarter Casks

Decent dram but first impression of cough sickeningly sweet meds.

It is not an unpleasant dram but unfortunately sickeningly sweet. Not sure I will buy another of this. Yet it was an experience

    Extraordinary

I got to taste this after having a tasting from none other than Stewart Buchanan. I must say, being a big peat fan, this whisky blew me away. BenRiach and GlenDronach tasting expert Sarah did an excellent job puttning together this cask. Quarter cask peated has the perfect amount of ppm to still enhance the natural flavours of fruit and berries, coupled with the prominent flavours bourbon and sherry casks. This is a whisky served best alone in front of the tv, a hot summer day on the balcony or together with friends to round out a enjoyable evening. 10/10. One of the best whiskys ive ever had the pleasure of tasting.

    laphroaig copy ?

well, what can one say, this a rather daring venture from the new owners, quite a bit more expensive than its namesake from Islay. I found the nose quite pleasant, not so much peach but a very florally aroma, typical peaty nose from this distillery. Taste wise, neat not so strong for a 46% Tar, fruity with a nice nutty almond taste ( reminds me of the old Bunnahabhain 12 ) finish is nice , reasonably long with that slight TCP lingering in the background. Not bad for a non Islay but i fear grossly over-priced for such a meduim quality dram.. Benriach be careful !
