20 year old single malt from Benriach, released as part of the distillery's 15th batch of single cask bottlings. This particular expression was distilled back in July 1997 and set aside to age in a virgin oak hogshead until 2018, when it was bottled at 53.1% ABV. Only 300 of these were produced.
Pear drops, cassia, walnut and a whiff of brioche.
Spicy malt and dry cedar, while juicy sultana and nectarine notes develop in the background. A touch of Turkish delight gives it a floral sweetness.
Still enjoyably spicy, though mellowed by notes of salted butter and peanut brittle.
