BenRiach 20 Year Old 1995 (cask 95171) - Chieftain's (Ian Macleod)
A 20 year old bottling of BenRiach single malt, finished in a cask which previously held Monthélie White Wine. BenRiach are well-known for experimenting with a variety of interesting cask types (which you can see through their own extensive range of single cask releases), so expect this to be a fascinating expression. 366 bottles were produced, independently bottled by Ian Macleod.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh peach and prune, a hint of floral vanilla and honey'd porridge.
Palate
Oatcakes topped with apple chutney. White chocolate and more peach.
Finish
Robustly malty on the finish, with some plummy hints lingering.
