Bell's Original is a smooth, well-rounded whisky with a hint of smoke. It's perfect for enjoying neat or on the rocks.
Bell's whisky is the United Kingdom's most popular blended Scotch whisky, this is the standard release of Bell's Original, with notes of fresh herbs on the nose with cereal sweetness on the palate.
Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey.
Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice.
Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke.
It is awful! The noxious smell combined with the equally noxious taste indicates that your big name whiskey is contaminated with a toxic substance. I was really amazed by how bad it tasted. I mean I mostly drink cheap whisky like Queen Margot (£14.99/litre) which has a gorgeous smell & a pleasant enough taste. I, for one, shall never buy any of Bell's Whisky ever again.
Doesn't even smell like Whiskey and I am not normally a Whiskey drinker but if I do it is Jameson but unfortunately due to the current Coronavirus crisis the local CO-OP had sold all Jamesons 750ml bottles which were £18 a bottle, so in a quick decision I opted for Bells Scotch at £20 for 1ltr. Should of gone for the Famous Grouse at £26 as this Bells is just dreadful, it smells like something trying to imitate Whiskey and tastes even worse, on my first taste it took me back to something from my childhood, something medicinal, my wife had a taste and immediately said TCP and bingo it clicked, that was the taste from my childhood. That is what this tastes of with some hint of smoke and a pretense of whiskey taste but this aint Whiskey. If these were BOOTLEG PROHIBITION times this might be acceptable.
Stick to Whyte and Mackay. Not great but at least it tastes of whisky - not TCP
Some have said about the hint of smoke and oak Theres no scent of it but when you drink the 2020 bottle it's more than strong as it practically kicked me in the throat and left an aftertaste that unfortunately I wasn't fond of. Pity as it's really the first that hasn't appealed to me and I wouldn't try to be picky.
Never changes. Consistent and you can detect an element of fruit, smoke and a biscuity element where a lot of other blends are fruit driven. Very nice mixed with Pepsi in particular with ice.
