Bell's Original is a smooth, well-rounded whisky with a hint of smoke. It's perfect for enjoying neat or on the rocks.
Bell's whisky is the United Kingdom's most popular blended Scotch whisky, this is the standard release of Bell's Original, with notes of fresh herbs on the nose with cereal sweetness on the palate.
Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey.
Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice.
Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke.
Very rough taste, heavy alcohol punch which masks the flavours you'll find on the tasting notes, although they are there. I advise against drinking neat. I usually dash a dram of this in a coffee in the evening.
It doesn't smell too bad but the taste is awful, have they changed recipe or something? I'll stick to Old Pulteney.
How “Nasty Nasty” can be so dismissive is beyond me. Bell’s has more of the island taste than, for example, a smooth and highlandy Grouse. However it is still a fine blend and a pleasant change to get peat smoke but a little less intense than the famous Islay single malts. Of course it’s a whisky and a very popular one at that
This bottle of bells smells and tastes smokey to me, it did not taste like that before.
Wow....how they can call this whisky is beyond me. I enjoy a neat whisky and usually stick to the cheaper gut rot variety. Decided to treat myself to a bottle of Bells....never again. A 'hint' of smoke? Good god...thought I was drinking a bonfire! Doesnt smell like any whisky I ever had before either. Lesson learnt.
