The small batch Kentucky straight bourbon honours the legacy of Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., who back in the 1790s was known to use more rye in his mashbill than other distillers. (He's also the chap that Old Grand-Dad bourbon is named after.) Crafted by the great Booker Noe in 1992, Basil Hayden bourbon utilises a similar mashbill as its namesake would have used, with high rye but a lighter take on the style.
Cracked black pepper, rye, and oaky spice. Hints of green pepper, lemon peels, and creamy, zesty lemon curd.
Rice Krispies, toasted cereal progressing to popcorn with gentle marshmallow, custard cream sweetness.

Received a bottle of Basil Hayden whisky from #hometesteruk to try.I love my whisky so was very happy to test this out!I usually drink malt whisky to bourbon type whiskys.With my favourite usually being Jack Daniels.I was skeptical at first as not heard of this brand before but very pleasantly surprised!It had a lovely sweet brown sugary oaky test pleasant to my palette and wants not to like about the lovely posh looking metal around the bottle making it look very premium.Would definately buy this one again,highly recommend!!!
I love the flavor with basil with it's light body and smooth texture it will be good to enjoy with family and friends t as charred oak flavour complemented with brown sugar and black pepper

Very nice smooth taste , l have enjoyed drinking it straight and l think it's worth every penny.The bottle is different with it's label being held on by a metal band around bottle and looks good in my spirit display drink cabinet. My new favourite
When I first opened the box I was surprised by how stylish the bottle was. The unique quirks in the design make the bottle feel like it is something a little more special than a bog standard design, this makes it great for gifting. The drink is strong with a sweet kick, and made to a quality standard. I will definitely think of this brand in the future when buying alcohol and would highly recommend it to others. - o0Sarah0o
