The small batch Kentucky straight bourbon honours the legacy of Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., who back in the 1790s was known to use more rye in his mashbill than other distillers. (He's also the chap that Old Grand-Dad bourbon is named after.) Crafted by the great Booker Noe in 1992, Basil Hayden bourbon utilises a similar mashbill as its namesake would have used, with high rye but a lighter take on the style.
Cracked black pepper, rye, and oaky spice. Hints of green pepper, lemon peels, and creamy, zesty lemon curd.
Rice Krispies, toasted cereal progressing to popcorn with gentle marshmallow, custard cream sweetness.

The whiskey was perfect for relax, book, and smoke as well as drinking in company neat, and maybe on rocks. It was still smooth when warm. I have mixed it with organic and original coke and shared with friends we all agreed that when warm notes of woody nut are coming over more when nest, and when mixed the whiskey creates notes of spice. Whiskey is the best when neat. 7
Loved it! And it'll be my favourite whisky now! The bottle I'd design in such a beautiful and original way, looks great on my alcohol shelf! It makes a wonderful gift too! The tast is strong but super smooth! Tast great neat but also with a mixer (although personally I think it is a waste of whisky by mixing it with coke etc!). I would definitely recommend it, worth every penny! Will be buying again!
First of all I really like the bottle, it looks exclusive, excellent design. First impression when try is very good, really smooth taste. Easy to drink on their own same as with ice cubes. When you drink the depths of flavours keep coming with notes of fruits. Really enjoyed. Recommended to everyone who love drink bourbons.
A tasty smoked woody aroma that remains in my palate, plus a softer vanilla essence that makes this whisky more attractive, enjoyable and easy to drink. I prefer to drink it neat but you can mixed in cocktails. The bottle have a magnificent presentation with the metal seal on it.
It was a great experience tasting this bourbon. It has a lively aroma and loved drinking it neat. The richness in the notes is what I loved - it has a sense of sweetness which makes this very unique.
