Balvenie's 30-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky, matured in a mixture of traditional oak and Sherry casks selected by David Stewart, Balvenie's Malt Master. Previous editions of the 30-year-old have won plenty of awards, including the 2013 release, which won a Gold Outstanding at the IWCS and was crowned Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2013.

Round and complex with a gentle development of floral honey. Nutty and oily with allspice aplenty.
Warming and rich. A sweet honey develops, vanilla, a hint of cigar leaf with nutty Sherry and a faint hint of smoke or malty peat.
The finish is long and honeyed, subtly fading away with floral and fruity hints.
A rich, complex and quite beautiful Balvenie.
This is very smooth without being overwhelming start to finish. One pour wants to be followed by another!
Smooth and buttery on the palette. Rich, full vanilla and caramel flavor. Beneath that, orange cream. A dram to savor. The bourbon and Sherry casks used here do not overwhelm the spirit, but coax it along to perfection. Cliche, but true... this is an absolutely beautiful example of the whisky-maker's art.
Amazing and smooth. Tastes like it could hang with Royal Salute stone of destiny but falls a bit short. That's not a bad thing. This scotch is still among the stars.
I am not a Scotch expert. I am a normal gentleman that has tried several Single Malt Whiskeys in restaurants, and wants to learn more. To do that I recently purchased 10 samples. At least one was from each region of Scotland. I had no regard for price. The goal was to try some very fine Whiskeys. I wanted to learn. This review is based on that. I am giving each sample 5 stars simply because they are all fine whiskeys and my pallet is not refines to make a 1-5 judgement. I really liked this sample. It was Very smooth and drinkable. This is one of my favorites. Very tasty.
It is excellent single malt Scotch whisky
