The 12-year-old expression in Balvenie's travel retail Triple Cask range is made with whisky matured in three different types of cask, namely first-fill American oak barrels, traditional refill casks, and first-fill oloroso sherry butts. Following the maturation, the whisky is married together to create a cohesive, flavoursome expression packed with orchard fruit, custard cream, and cinnamon spice.

While i prefer is lay whiskeys, my collection will always have a place for the triple wood. An amazing, easy drinking whiskey packed with flavour. Nose: Honey/nectar, bright fruits like peaches, pears, oranges, a custard combined with mild spices. Mouth: Oakiness, oranges, a custard & honey sweetness, spices, a slight bitterness when combined with the sweetness is like coco. Finish: Mild bitterness and an oily, spicy feeling. Lovely.
Bought this Scotch in Saint Martin and brought home a bottle. When back 7 months later and bought as much as I could and as much as my fellow passengers could bring back. This is a very smooth, delightful single malt. Would drink it all the time if I wasn't going to run out. One of the best I have had and I have had a lot of different ones.
An outstanding whisky. The effect of aging in Sherry casks is present, but enhances rather than overwhelms this excellent whisky. Although it has a rather light color, it has a full and complex taste. A little orange, vanilla, smoke, licorice, pepper. All the good stuff. The biggest problem is finding it in any local retailer.
A wonderful creamy opening the that then expands its flavoursome depth on the palate as it lingers on the tongue expressing its fruity complexities and flavour depth inherent in a triple cask process. Balvenie 12 Triple Cask is a wonderfully balanced whisky, very smooth and easy to drink that delivers a nice soft yet drawing complexity. Certainly worth a try for any whisky buff. Enjoy!
