The Balvenie Tun 1401 is the almighty plaything of the distillery's malt masters, and this single malt was created under the watchful eye of esteemed former malt master David Stewart. The Balvenie Tun 1401 is a vat, which, for the uninitiated, is like a barrel on steroids... or imagine the Incredible Hulk as a bucket. In this monolithic cask, this wizard of whisky concocted his most lavish expressions of the Balvenie Single Malt. Some say self-indulgent, others say genius; however, we can all agree that the finished product is always wondrous to behold.

Sweet and rich on the nose with notes of tropical fruits, hints of coconut, a little spice, vanilla and marzipan. Touches of leather, dates and cinnamon, with rose petal jelly and barrel char.
Oaky, rich and quite fruity, with nectarine, acacia honey and custard notes, hints of cocoa and walnut and a touch of apple sauce.
Good length, with honey, spices and a suggestion of caramelised orange zest.

In a nutshell FANTASTIC a must buy
