A special limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from Ballindalloch Distillery, The Castle was made to celebrate the launch of Sunday Times Best Seller John Sutherland’s latest novel of the same name. Just like a great thriller, this whisky holds a twist — its classic Speyside character takes an unexpected turn with a hint of peat smoke.
Matured in a combination of bourbon and peated casks, this marks the first time the distillery has introduced a smoky element to its spirit. The result is a rich, layered dram. Only 2,000 bottles will be available in the UK, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. As a bonus, each purchase for delivery in the UK includes a copy of The Castle by John Sutherland.
Ballindalloch The Castle was bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural colour.
Honeyed malt, orchard fruits, and vanilla, with a delicate wisp of smoke in the background.
Creamy caramel and toasted oak, with subtle peat emerging alongside hints of spice and citrus.
Long and warming, with lingering sweetness and a gentle smoky fade.
