Ballantine's 17 Year Old is a blend favoured by many. It's vibrant, well-balanced, and properly packed with honey, apples, and biscuits, plus a hint of smoke.
Feinty. Smoke and a touch of mochaccino. There are some notes of leather and Madeira with a little chocolate.
Balanced. There are notes of cut herbs and a defined vegetal character. Fresh citrus and fudge. Touch of peat smoke.
Fruit, becomes dry.

After many those single malts I have tasted, this blended one "ordinary Ballantine's" has been systematically overlooked. Shame on me. Typical beginnner's mistake,always looking for something special. After years I realized that price and age are not always measures of quality. This one is one of the best whiskies I have ever tasted. It can easily compete with bottles worth £100 and more.
It's so smooth and bright. B17 draws your mouth back to the glass, over and over. With just half a teaspoon of water added, it open up with other subtle floral notes, less alcohol aftertaste. It's wonderful. I will buy many times again.
A lovely, perfect skilled blended whisky - smooth with tastes if fruit, hint of smoke, vanilla, and hidden depths only revelaled on the long, slightly spicy finish. Some real craftsmanship at work here. Superb.
Absolutely superb blended whisky. It is fruity, spicy and slightly smoky. I think it one the best blends I’ve ever had.
