The key ingredients in the Ballantines blends are Miltonduff and Glenburgie as well as whisky from around fifty other distilleries. This is their 12 year old.

Fruity, grassy, and a little spicy. Only vague hints of smoke. Not overly sweet, somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Medium body, medium finish. All in all, an interesting blend on the "refreshing" side of Scotch whiskies. In my opinion, a lot better than the entry-level Ballantine's. Compared to JW Black (my personal reference blend), it's lighter, but not necessarily worse.
Excellent taste and excellent price
