Blended
Ballantine's
Scotland
Ballantines Finest whisky was Jim Murray's No Age Statement Blend of the Year with a whopping 96 points! The critic seems to have a real penchant for the brand, awarding the 17 year old expression a similar score. Ballantines Finest is a great all-rounder - easy-going and very flavoursome. A classic blend.
Expressive, crisp barley sugars. Touch of wood smoke, toffee.
Rich and sweet. Barley and caramel, very gentle peat.
Soft and sweet, fudge.
Appalling new packaging, does not stand out on the shelf as well as the classic single label distinguished from others. Bottle is even harder to hold with slippery surface over width for best pouring. Still a great tasty whisky but only after I decant it into a classic bottle!!
Consistent and very enjoyable. A great value scotch that checks off every box for me.
Like a cardhu 12 to be honest. Very very good blend. I am a single malt whisky gaylord myself on the speyside and Smokey islay side. Occasianal highland but this is a knockout for less then 20eu. Any money above, beter to go with single malt .
I have drunk a couple of whiskies in this price range like Teacher's and Black Dog/Black Dog Gold Reserve. I get a kind of illness almost every time when I drink Ballantine's. There is something definitely wrong with it. Certainly not a 96 rated whisky. Murray got it wrong. It is also not that smooth as well. I find Talisker 10 easier to drink and far more enjoyable!!!!!!!! Black Dog Gold Reserve is far superior and I will choose it over Ballantine's any given day. Black Dog is my favourite affordable blend when it comes to the Indian market. Drinking it has been always a pleasurable experience.
GREAT Taste for blended whisky........kudoos to the markers....
