A wonderful single cask Balblair bottled at a cask strength 55.2% ABV in September 2017 for the Mackillop's Choice range. This beauty matured for 20 years after distillation in 15 May 1997 and has an outturn of 206 bottles.
Over lush toffee there's a sprinkle of spice, before notes of ripe pear, barley malt, manuka honey and baked apples appear.
As barley grist, banana foam sweets and marshmallows lead, honey-covered raisins, spiced black pepper heat and a squeeze of citrus follow.
Lengthy and full-flavoured, with stewed fruits and ginger on the tail.
