This 13-year-old single malt from Aultmore joins That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Cinema Series having matured in not one, but two different bourbon casks. After an initial 11 years in a refill bourbon barrel, the whisky was re-racked in a fresh first-fill bourbon barrel to bathe for its final years, ensuring that the biscuity malt shines alongside layers of zesty citrus and chalky grist.
Batch 18 is a release of 418 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Almond oil, marzipan, and roasted peanuts lead the way, with biscuity malt joined by zesty notes of grapefruit, and green Fruit Pastilles.
Vibrant notes of citrus back gently vegetal barley, with chalky grist and toasted oak in tow.
A touch of hoppy herbal tea keeps things grassy, with lime peels and a pinch of pepper lingering.
