This 13-year-old single malt from Aultmore joins the independent collection from Darkness, and you know what that means? Sherry aplenty! The whisky was given the signature Darkness treatment with a stay in one of its custom-made, tiny little oloroso octave casks, ensuring maximum sherry influence on the oily, earthy malt within.
Coastal notes of harbourside and shellfish are joined by salted peanuts, candied nut brittle, and oily, briny minerality.
Oily malt leads the way with notes of earthy black tea followed by vegetal, green peppercorn warmth and a touch of cut grass.
Earthy, oily oak, barky spice, hessian, Garibaldi biscuits.
