This cask strength Auchroisk is the single malt's third appearance in the Diageo Special Releases, following a 20 year old in 2010 and a very good 30 year old in 2012. Matured in American oak hogheads and refill European oak butts, 3,954 bottles have been produced.
Inviting, with notes of white peach, soft raisins, orange cream, vanilla and fresh linen. A fantastic nose.
Some cereal gristiness on the palate, but well-integrated and still light with floral touches. Fresh apricots and fondant fancies.
Mint choc chip ice cream. Every word is important there.
