Auchroisk 23 Year Old 1990 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Auchroisk 23 Single Cask Bottling Note

A relatively young distillery, Auchroisk was founded in 1972 and briefly produced whiskies under the name ‘The Singleton’. Mainly used in blends, Auchroisk is rarely seen bottled as a Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This single cask was distilled in 1990 and aged for 22 years in a sherry hogshead (that was a bit leaky), the result was just 99 absolutely cracking bottles! Meaty and bold, this is a rare treat indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Vanilla and even crème brulée with big sweetness and malt.

Palate: Big; a full on whisky. Nutty and bold, cream sweetness with more vanilla.

Finish: Satisfying and rich. Real power balanced with smooth creaminess.

Overall: Hands down delicious. The hoggy was bit leaky, so the outturn on this cask was very low making this bottling even more rare.
