The zombie apocalypse has returned in the form of the seventh batch of this delicious indie Auchroisk! This one was matured for 12 wonderful years before the folks at That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottled it up at 47.9% ABV. If you look very carefully at the blood-curdling label, you'll see that, amidst the chaos of finding people to recruit to the undead, one of the zombies has found the time to get his hair dyed. Self care, and all that.
Batch 7 is a release of 2,400 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Through dry smoke there’s fresh malt, lemon peel and dark berry syrup, with plenty of toffee, coconut husk and brittle.
Warming baking spice adds an initial burst of spice. Lime peel, caramel and orchard fruit bring sweetness. A little salinity and smoke develop underneath.
Delicately sweet with some prickles from ginger root.

Notes of fruits with cinnamon and toffee which is not bad but whisky feels much younger then 12yo. No complexity and 48% abv hits stronger then some 60%+. Had few another bottles from TBWC and was really happy, but not with this one at all. There are plenty of great whisky for £54.50/700ml, so I definitely not going to replace this
I like it but it hava a strange smell cant place it. But the taste is lovley. Good value
