Auchentoshan
Scotland
Single Malt
A Lowland single malt matured in 3 different casks, namely: Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry casks. A distinctive triple distilled whisky from Auchentoshan.
Cooked fruit, sherry, toffee, a rum-like quality and notes of Bas Armagnac distilled circa 1940.
Rich. Liqueur cherries in dark chocolate, more sherried fruit, ripe dark forest fruits, like a Black Forest Gateaux.
Superb, led by thick dark treacle and toffee notes and chewy wooded notes, balanced with a green fruit edge.

As smooth as a 25 yo scotch, plus some nice soft flavors of vanilla and hazelnut. Worth every penny!
This is nice but as in the name it is quite Oakey. Did get the sweetness and slightly bitter aftertaste. Good as an unaged statement, for drinking not keeping!
Ever since I told the people behind the bar at the Edinburgh Whiskey Museum that I wanted something sweet and toffee-like and they poured me a snifter of this, I have been in love. Smooth, deep and sweet. What else can I say?
Oh my goodness. I was so into peaty rich single malts until I had tried this. I have completely moved away from those deep, dark peats since I supped Three Wood. Smoothe, elegant, enticing. Your first sip and you completely forget what you thought what was essential in a whisky. As a woman who loves character, this is it for me.
Another of my favourite best-for-your-money Scotch. Goes head-to-head with whisky 2-3 times the price for complexity and flavour. The deep and decadent notes throughout are smooth and delicious.
