Auchentoshan's Springwood expression, which spends its maturation resting in American oak bourbon casks, was released for travel retail. Rich in vanilla and orange, this is a flavoursome Lowland single malt, from a top distillery that triple distils its whisky.
Light and fragrant with classic bourbon-cask vanilla and honey, with hints of orange oil shining through.
Chocolatey on the palate, with continued vanilla fudge and citrus peels.
A rather refreshing palate of lemon and orange.

I like it quite well. My tasting notes would be a slight spicy nose with with a warm vanilla taste and citrus back end.
Got this as a gift. Glad I didn't spend money on it. There's a nice flavour under the harshness but it's not an easy drinking whisky like the 12. I'm a bit disappointed but I won't be pouring it down the gurgler like other reviewers.

Lucky enough to have friend in industry who gave me a sample of this. Really nice dram. Very smooth and totally came alive adding a little water. It really did. Absolutely beautiful whisky
