From the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands comes a triple distilled single malt Scotch whisky aged entirely in first fill American oak casks. A light, bright whisky with plenty of vanilla sweetness at its centre - great as an aperitif dram.
Oranges and lemons, toffee chunks and milk chocolate. Wafts of grassy air and clotted cream.
Bounty bars, more citrus peels and peaches. A little bit buttery, with golden barley and oak spice developing on the mid palate.
Lasting notes of grapefruit and toffee pennies.
Was given this as a gift. It is smooth, but very bland. It tastes more like a Bells or a Teachers, not a single malt. Only good to drink as a mixer, like Whisky and Coke.
Tried for the first time and I was blown away by it, the nose is citrus, vanilla and toffee, the taste was creamy, vanilla, peach and coconut and left a toffee peach after taste, I love it, my new no 1
So far this is the only Auchentoshan I've tried, but I can only manage a wee dram (aka a double) of this before the sweetness gets a bit too much, not horrible but just too much. I must try more from this distillery.
Opened a bottle of this whiskey with a couple of good friends of ours. The bottle was empty the next day. Says it all doesn't it? One of our guests recorded the name to buy more.
Hint of banoffee on the nose, not strong but fresh and sweet. Very smooth on the palate, maybe too smooth, but a lovely creamy and faintly spicy finish. Doesn’t blow you away, but very drinkable and good value.
